The CHOOFAS Story
After years of trial and error emulating the flavours and tastes of smoked meats savoured on his many business trips to the US, Scott believed he had developed his unique Dark Dry Rub and Sauces to a stage where they would readily appeal to the discerning Australian palate.
He designed a commercial size smoker which would give him not only the capacity but the infinite temperature and smoke control required to ensure the continuity of flavours and tenderness for his beef, pork and chicken.
In November 2015 Scott and his wife Judy opened CHOOFAS SMOKEHOUSE & BBQ at Tweed Heads. Wanting to combine his passion for fishing, the freshest seafood and his love of American Style BBQ Meats, Scott opened CHOOFAS SMOKEHOUSE & SEAFOOD restaurant Marine Parade, Coolangatta in June 2016 and subsequently closed the much smaller Tweed Heads takeaway shop.
Bringing a totally new dining experience to the beachfront at Coolangatta CHOOFAS now has the capacity to seat up to sixty guests and offers great views of the Gold Coast.
Offering an array of Fresh and Cooked Seafood combined with BBQ Style Smoked Meats, Ribs, Buffalo Wings, Burgers, Steak, Chicken and Salads CHOOFAS is now able to satisfy all tastes whether Dining In or Takeaway.
